Vegan cooking classes, dumplings and vodka, jerk chicken, and so much more — Feastly’s newest chefs are hitching a ride to Flavor Town.
Susan Denzer and Carly Knowles
Susan is a chef and culinary consultant. She owns a boutique culinary consulting business called Love + Craft Kitchen, LLC, specializing in recipe and menu development, testing and writing, cooking classes and demonstrations, and program development.
Carly is a self taught chef with over a decade of professional and private experience. She owns her own private nutrition practice in NW Portland, where works with patients individually, as well as teaches cooking classes and leads grocery store tours.
Susan and Carly will be teaming up to host a plant-based protein cooking class at the end of January.
Urban Farm Foods / Shannon Feltus
Shannon Feltus is the creative head of Urban Farm Foods, working with local purveyors to bring the best of what each season has to offer to her pop-ups. She also cooks with what she gardens herself! This year, she’s hosting some hands-on art and food workshops.
With over 25 years of experience, James Beard award-winning Vitaly Paley is a critically-acclaimed restaurateur, chef, and cookbook author. In 2015, Paley went back to his roots and started DaNet, a Russian-inspired pop-up series showcasing pre-Soviet cuisine. Experience stuffed eggs, blinis, smoked fish, piroshki, borscht and much more.
Caribbean Taste PDX / Robert Bryant
Robert moved to Portland from Boston in September of 2016 after working as garde monger for the East Coast Grill and Raw Bar under James Beard winner Chris Schlesinger. Robert also ran Moveable Feast Catering before opening Caribbean Taste PDX. At his pop-up, enjoy dishes like fish cakes with mango slaw, jerk chicken, and key lime pie.
Arcane Revelry is a pop-up series celebrating cannabis culture through elevated dining experiences. Through health-minded meals, an Arcane event brings together cannabis professionals and enthusiasts at the communal table.
Served is a queer dining & social pop-up event in Portland, Oregon. They partner with other queer collaborators to provide an opportunity to come together and build community. Share your ideas, passions, and fellowship while meeting new people and enjoying a unique culinary experience.
Noodle School / JoMarie Pitino
JoMarie Pitino is the pasta-maker at Ava Genes Restaurant, becoming well-versed in using beautiful grains grown and milled in the Pacific Northwest. She hosts classes to bestow this knowledge on others while showcasing the benefits of using these ingredients. Every class is followed by a family-style pasta dinner!
Emily is a spirits industry veteran who has led educational initiatives for several international whiskey brands. She is the founder of the recently launched Portland Whiskey Society and owner of fern + shaker, a cocktail company focused on educating people about spirits through beautiful, seasonally-focused drinks. Her Feastly debut includes fall-themed cocktail workshops.
Hailing from the central coast of California, Chef Daniel trained at the Culinary Institute of America in Napa Valley. Passionate about highlighting the best of the season, Chef Daniel fuses Mediterranean style with classic French technique. His next pop-ups feature homemade porchetta, cassoulet, and more.
The Portland Culinary Alliance is a non-profit organization fostering education, networking, social events, and scholarship opportunities for current and aspiring food and beverage professionals in Oregon and Southwest Washington. Their first Feastly event features Ivy Manning, who will demonstrate quick soup and bread recipes from her sixth cookbook.
