Our Next Meal: A Cuban Feast

This Thursday, February 7th, we welcome our newest Feastly cooks, Greer Gilchrist and Lisa Markuson, to host “Winter for Fidel,” a Cuban feast.

About the Cooks:

Greer Gilchrist and Lisa Markuson met eating falafel one cold wintry evening just over one year ago, and have been inseparable ever since. After working together in falafel stands, Scandinavian restaurants, and pop-up cafes, and sharing a room in a glorious mansion together since their propitious meeting, the two lovely young mavens recently launched their new baking enterprise, Black Strap Baking Co. Their loves include international travel, cocktails, and playing dress up.

Appetizer

Empanadas a la Cubana: Baked dumplings filled with walnuts, raisins and manchego cheese

Main Course

Stuffed Plantains: Plantains filled with meats

Shredded zucchini nested with black beans, massaged spicy kale salad

Dessert

Pay de Aguacate: A delicious Avocado pie

After dinner, who knows? Hopefully, this guy shows up.
